San Lawrenz seminar to mark the end of PANACEA Project

The San Lawrenz Local Council is organising a seminar to mark the end of the PANACEA- Italia-Malta EU Project.
The Council is inviting interested participants to attend a seminar being organised under the project P.A.N.A.C.E.A – Promozione Aree Naturali Attraverso Centri di Educazione Ambientale (the Protection, Conservation and Promotion of National Parks, Reserves and Protected Areas), part-financed under the Italia-Malta Operational Programme 2007-2013.
The seminar will include the screening of the three underwater documentaries shot within the project, a visit to the Dwejra marine environmental education centre, as well as talks on environmental education, Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and the local diving industry.
The project aims to promote the sound scientific management of biodiversity assets within Maltese and Sicilian MPAs through environmental educational centres. The Local Council of San Lawrenz is implementing this project in partnership with the University of Malta, the Province of Siracusa (Sicily), the Province of Palermo (Sicily) and the Municipality of Lampedusa (Italy).
The seminar is taking place at the Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz on Monday, the 16th September 2013.
