e-Residence applications can be made in Gozo from MondayEU nationals residing in Gozo, will from Monday morning be able to leave their application for the e-Residence document at the ID office in St Francis Square Gozo.

Dr Mariella Grech, Director of the Department for Citizenship and Expatriate Affairs, confimed that the Department will have a prescence there as as from Monday morning. “Persons can leave their completed applications (including a photo) with our officer at the ID office in Gozo.”

Dr Grech said that later they also hope to have a collection service from Gozo as well.

This news will be a welcome relief for those persons who have not yet submitted their application and will no longer have to face the initial journey to Malta.

      1) ‘…………………..The practical consequences for a non-Maltese EU applicant who is resident on the sister island – Gozo – is a 5 hour round trip each and every time he/she is required to personally attend the Department of Citizenship and Expatriate Affairs laden with all manner of official documentation. ……..’

      Oh well – – finally it is decided that the issue is a problem for us non maltese europeans living in Gozo. Shame they cant do the same with all offices eh?
