Xaghra Youth Games – Based on Malta’s history and folklore

The Xaghra Youth Games games are based on Malta’s history and folklore with titles including the building of Ggantija, Ulysse’s arrival in Gozo and the meeting with Calypso, the expulsion of the french from Malta, the Great siege of Malta and the feast of our lady of Victories.
The 22nd edition of the games are taking place next Sunday, the 25th of August, starting at 8.00pm in Xaghra Parish Square.
About 100 people, mainly youths, will be participating, divided into 4 teams with titles connected with Xaghra with names as Odissini, Sanvernini, Sansuniti, and Giganti.
As well as the spectacle of the games, the show will include dancing by several groups and folk dancing. Everyone is warmly invited to go along and enjoy entertainment for the whole family and tourists alike who can combine an evening of fun with the history of Malta.
The games are organised by the Xaghra Youth Centre in collaboration with the Xaghra Local Council.
Entrance to the games is free and everyone is invited to attend and enjoy the evening of events.
