Hundreds of Gozitans & Maltese attend night vigil at Ta’ Pinu

A night Vigil was held on the Parvis of the Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu National Shrine on Wednesday 14th August, eve of the feast of the Assumption of Our Lady. Mgr. Mario Grech, Bishop for Gozo led the Vigil Mass and also delivered an homily.
The Vigil was organised by the Diocesan Curia in collaboration with the National Sanctuary of Our Lady ‘Ta’ Pinu”s administration. This year’s vigil was entitled, ‘Ma’ Marija Pellegrini Lejn is-Sema Pajjizna.’
The Diocesan Vigil included a small procession aux flambaux with participants carrying red candles. The Gozitan Eucharistic Movement lead an adoration.
The procession included a replica of the titular painting venerated in the National Sanctuary. Hundreds of Gozitan and Maltese pilgrims attended this night vigil, which has been organised for the past 17 years.
The whole event was transmitted live on Radio Maria 102.3FM/107.8FM.
This religious activity on the eve of the Assumption of Our Lady – closed the fifteen traditional and devotional Wednesdays held at ta’ Pinu in spiritual preparation for the 15th of August’s great Solemnity.
