Fostering Creativity & Innovation – Seminar at the Citadel

The historical setting of St. Ursula’s Hall at the Gozo Citadel was the perfect setting for a group of collaborators in the cultural sphere, who met recently for discussions on the way forward towards promoting a wider culture of creativity and innovation in Gozo.
Culture forms an important part of the Gozo’s social fabric and is an integral part of the island’s identity. A number of experts in this field expressed their views on how this sector can help to foster a creative economy on the island.
Rev. Dr Joe Vella Gauci, Chair of the National and Regional Celebrations Committee and host of this seminar, stressed the importance that Gozo considers culture as an investment.
In this regard, he insisted that cultural promoters on Gozo, adopt a holistic approach towards culture and it’s content. The semionar’s key speakers included MCCA Chair Albert Marshall, Notte Bianca Artistic Director Sean Buhagiar, Human Resorces & Management Consultant Dr. Silvio Debono and Valletta 18 Foundation Chair Jason Micallef.
Jason Micallef.gave a general overview of the V18 vision and Gozo’s input to such an important appointment. This seminar was moderated by PBS Chair Dr. Tonio Portughese.
