Norwegian in court for assult on Police & cocaine possession

24-year-old Norwegian Knut Mathias Klonteig, was today accused before the Duty Magistrate at the Gozo Court, for having on the 19th July in Fontana, assualted or resisted by violence, reviled and threatened a Police Sergeant and Constable, for disobeying Police order, for disturbing public order and peace, for being drunk in public and for damaging property of two victims.
The accused, who had been residing temporarily in Mgarr, Gozo, pleaded guilty to the charges. He was sentenced to six months imprisonment suspended for two years, as well as having to pay €500 if he breached a guarantee in favour of the victims.
Klonteig was also charged for being possession of cocaine on the 18th July.
He pleaded guilty to this charge and was conditionally discharged for a year.
