On Tuesday evening the project ‘Ir-Rokna tal-Kreattività mà Amina Contin’ was officially inaugurated, in the presence of the Minister for Gozo, Dr Anton Refalo, H.E. Giovanni Umberto De Vito, Ambassador of Italy to Malta and Dr Salvatore Schirmo, Director of Italian Cultural Institute.This ‘Home of Creativity’ in Gharb Gozo, is space dedicated to the develop and promotion of creativity in all it’s forms: Exhibitions of Paintings, Sculptures, Art and Craft, Jewelry, Workshops, Art books, Art objects, Fashion, Music, Poetry and much more…
The new ‘Home of Creativity’ is at 8, Triq L-Gharb, just next to the Italian Restaurant ‘La locanda degli artisti,’ in front of Caffè Jeffery’s, on the corner between the two roads to San Lawrenz and Gharb villages (bus 311 and 312).
It is open from 4pm till 9pm Tuesday to Sunday and it is closed on Mondays.
Presently on display visitors will find a wide range of excellent artists from Gozo, Italy, Malta and other countries, with Jewellery and Artworks by Jackie Roberts, an exhibition of Gozo Weaving by Alda Bugeja
The new book ‘The Village Feast,’ the first of the series‘The Cultural Legacy of Malta & Gozo’ by Editor Fr. Charles Cini, author historian Vincent Zammit and photographer Daniel Cilia is also now available from ‘Ir-Rokna tal-Kreattività ma’ Amina Contin.’
The new series of books published by the Salesians of Don Bosco, ‘The Cultural Legacy of Malta & Gozo,’ is a compendium of twenty photographic books about Malta’s beauty, history and cultrure.
The 20 full-colour books will be available for sale at only €25 each, one every season.
Buying the year series of four books will entitle the buyer to a fifth book, free, which comes with the winter issue. All books can also be bought individually.
‘The Cultural Legacy of Malta & Gozo,’ will be directed by Salesian editor Fr. Charles Cini SDB, along with photographer Daniel Cilia and author Vincent Zammit. The three thousand word essay in each book and detailed captions for each stunning photograph will engage the reader on a journey of discovery around the Maltese islands and its people like never before.
The first book ‘The Village Feast’ is available for sale now. The books are not available in bookshops, but only by direct sale.
