Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi was present on Sunday for a ceremony to mark the embellishment project that was carried out by the Zebbug local council at Marsalforn Bay.
The works also involved the collaboration of the Malta Tourism Authority.
A local council statement said that the paving work was carried out in front of various establishments on Port Street and the creek, roads were also resurfaced and a modern street-lighting system was installed.
At the end of the ceremony, Dr Gonzi unveiled a commemorative plaque which was blessed by Archpriest Fr Ruben Micallef.
Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono also attended the ceremony.
