Four companies show interest in license for a Gozo casinoParliamentary Secretary Edward Zammit Lewis said today that there had been a good response shown for expressions of interest for the license of another Casino in Malta and for one in Gozo. The Government launched an international call for expression of interest on the two casinos in May.

The Parliamentary Secretary said that six companies had collected documents for the Malta casino and four had collected them for a casino in Gozo.

“It gives one interpretation,” Zammit Lewis said, “confidence in the local economy, confidence in the new administration of this country and above all confidence in the people of this country. We are sending out positive signals on the potential that this country offers.”

Zammit Lewis also explained that the launch of the new Global Residence Programme had been very well received by the public, as well as operators in this field. “Effectively local developers, financial services and those involved in property brokerage in this countr, have already started to promote this programme to encourage foreign investment to our shores.”
