As part of its commitment to provide reliable and convenient postal services MaltaPost has increased its postal vehicle fleet which now includes nine Euro V Fiat Doblo vans, eight Euro V Ford Transit Connect vans, three large tail lifts and two mobile Post Offices.
MaltaPost said that, “This will allow MaltaPost to deliver items more efficiently in Malta and Gozo and also between the two islands.
“This fleet is being leased from Burmarrad Commercials as part of an agreement which was signed earlier this year. All vehicles have been recently rebranded and are easily recognisable as they drive around the streets of Malta and Gozo, thanks to this new livery.”
In order to do its part towards the environment, the company said it has embarked on a number of environmentally related initiatives. Recently the company invested in eco-friendly vehicles and is constantly working to reduce its carbon footprint through the introduction of hybrid vehicles to its fleet.
MaltaPost’s CEO Mr Joseph Gafa’ explained how, “MaltaPost has constantly invested in ameliorating its service towards our customers in the best way possible, more so in light of the current shift in trends and the increase in e-commerce. Clients’ online shopping is on the rise and we therefore strive to gear our service to accommodate these trends. Being a major player which has operated in Malta for numerous years, MaltaPost carries a certain responsibility towards the Maltese society. Through such sustainable practices, we therefore seek to reduce the company’s impact on the environment and society at large”
“The Euro V vehicles are fuel efficient, offering practical help in reducing pollution to Malta’s highly congested roads and minimising parking difficulties. “In view of this, Burmarrad Commercials Managing Director, Mario Gauci commented “This warrants that Maltapost will receive an efficient and timely service ensuring that their vehicles, an essential tool for our client, are kept on the road, operating non – stop offering the general public, government entities and companies the best service possible.”
