‘Archaeological Walks on Gozo,’ is written by Lenie Reedijk and contains information on walks that will take you to prehistoric caves, shelters, temples – including one from the Phoenician era – dolmens and seven cart-rut sites.
The author said, “walking through the ancient landscape of Gozo can be a comprehensive experience in every way. Because of its size and the particular distribution pattern of its hills and valleys, you may encounter places of worship, of habitation and of burial in the course of only one day. And the cart-ruts that you will meet with will add an agreeable element of mystery to the scene as well.”
Lenie Reedijk, worked in the tourism sector in Malta during the 1990s and is a juridical translator by profession.
The 56-page A5 size booklet, is printed in full colour and available in either English or German.
It includes a map of Gozo on which the four featured walks are marked. It also contains some photographs of precious artefacts from the Gozo Archaeological Museum.
