The Malta Sports Scholarship scheme opened for this year

The Parliamentary Secretariat for Research and Innovation, Youth and Sports at the Ministry for Education and Employment has announced the opening of the Malta Sports Scholarship scheme for this year. This scheme is designed for those who wish to specialise in the training of any sport or is academically related to the field of sport.
The purpose of this scheme is to encourage more individuals to engage in sport-related professions or for specific sports. Enabling the level in each sport to rise and and also increase the number of professionals which support the athletes.
The Parliamentary Secretary for Research and Innovation, Youth and Sport, Stefan Buontempo, said that those who will benefit from these scholarships will be making long-term investments for himself and for our country. He said the Government “firmly believes that local athletes should be given more opportunities like these.”
Anyone can apply for these scholarships, including those of a young age. In the case of children at the age of compulsory education, they must make separate arrangements to continue attending school in the country where they will go to study or train.
