    Enjoy Mother's Day in Gozo on last day of Notte GozitanaSunday is the final day of ‘Lejlet Lapsi – Notte Gozitana 2013,’ it also happens to be ‘Mother’s Day,’ a perfect opportunity for all the family to enjoy some of the events on offer around Victoria and the rest of Gozo today.

    Saturday nights entertainment in the squares drew large crowds, with many Maltese crossing over for this popular weekend of festivities, taking advantage of the special fares and extra crossing by Gozo Channel.

    The programme for Sunday is as follows:

    9.30am Hands-on mosaic- making experience for children & adults (session 1) in Savina Square, Victoria. Co-ordinated by Mary Portelli. Free participation.

    10.00am Car Show in aid of Puttinu Cares, with the participation of Gozitan and Maltese car enthusiasts at Saint Augustine Square, Victoria (till 2:00pm).

    10.00am Historical re-enactment of French and British garrisons leaving the Gozo Citadel and passing through Independence Square, Victoria, before departing back to Malta.

    11.00am “Gozo during World War II ” – a historical lecture by Charles Bezzina at the Cittadella War Shelters in Castle Hill, Victoria.

    6.00pm “Il-Klassi” – a musical comedy in Maltese – written by Peter Paul Grech, music by Antoine Mercieca and adapted by Joe Psaila. Artistic direction of George Mizzi. Narrow street (Triq id-Dejqa), Victoria. (A repeat performance of this production will take place on Sunday 19th May at 6:00pm at the same venue).

    8.00pm Community Concert by the Youth National Orchestra directed by Mro. Joseph Vella at St.George’s Basilica, Victoria.

    “The man who …. Loved Gozo” – an exhibition of paintings by H.M. Bateman organized at the Ministry for Gozo Hall, St.Francis Square, Victoria, in collaboration with Heritage Malta.

    “Works by Giuseppe Briffa (1901 – 1987)” – an exhibition of paintings organized at the Banca Giuratale Foyer, Independence Square, Victoria, in collaboration with Ta’ Pinu Basilica.

    “duke of edinburgh room 36 ” – a contemporary art exhibition with the participation of artists Adrian Abela, Mario Abela, Victor Agius, George Mario Attard, Maxine Attard, Karen Caruana, Justin Falzon, Jimmy Grima, Teresa Sciberras and Ritti Tacsum and coordinated by Austin Camilleri. At the Culture & Identity Resource Centre – Sentinella Hall, Triq il-Foss, Gozo Citadel.

    “Identita’ – objects of local crafts transformed into art” – an ethnographical exhibition organised by the Culture & Identity Resource Centre at the Cittadella Centre for Culture & Arts, Gozo Citadel.

    “Sacred Art Biennale” – a collective art exhibition organized by the JPII Foundation at the Cittadella Centre for Culture & Arts – St.Ursola Hall, Triq Bieb l-Imdina, Gozo Citadel.

    “Dar l-Artist” – a collective exhibition and sale of paintings by Gozitan artists and books by Gozitan authors in Savina Square, Victoria.

    “Redemptione” – an sacred art exhibition organized by the Gozo Seminary on the occasion of the Year of Faith at the Sacred Heart Seminary Hall, Enrico Mizzi street, Victoria.

    “Drawings” – an exhibition of paintings by Maxine Attard. Art .. e Gallery, Library street, Victoria. “Arredamenti Sagri” – an exhibition of sacred vestments and liturgical paraphernalia organised by the Franciscan Conventual Friars at St.Francis Church, St.Francis Square, Victoria.

    Gozo Association for the Deaf (GAD) 25th Anniversary Celebrations: Sunday 12th May – Open Day including face painting & animation for children, bazaar & exhibition, at GAD Premises, Sta.Domenica street, Victoria (8.00am to 10.00am & 2.00pm to 5.00pm).

    Ghaqda Hbieb tal-Presepju Ghawdex – Malta – Open Day at the organisation’s official premises in Republic street, Victoria (beneath the Bishop’s Curia) Sunday – 9.00am till noon).

    Il-Kafe’ tal-Barrakka – an original cafeteria set up specially for Notte Gozitana, serving a variety of delicacies and sweets. An initiative of the Institute of Tourism Studies (Gozo) at the Barrakka Terrace, Upper Republic street, Victoria.

    Is-Socjeta’ Filarmonika La Stella – Muzika – Arti – Storja – an exhibition related to the main feats of the La Stella Philharmonic Society – lyric operas, art & culture and history at the Astra Theatre Foyer, Republic street, Victoria.

    Is-Socjeta’ Filarmonika Leone- 150 Sena ta’ Storja – an exhibition related to the 150th Anniversary of the Leone Philharmonic Society at the Aurora Theatre Foyer, Republic street, Victoria.

    Local Gastronomy & Crafts stands in Castle Hill, in collaboration with the Gozo Business Chamber.

    Wirt Ghawdex Citadel sites – Sunday 12th May: 10.30am till 1.00pm.

    Fun Train rides around Victoria: Organised by ‘Malta Fun Trains’ Sunday 13th May. Tickets from pick up & drop off point in Republic street (near Maltapost Office).

    Flower & Plant Spring Show organised by the Agrarian, Industrial and Cultural Society of Gozo at the Villa Rundle Gardens, Republic street, Victoria.

    Gozo Cathedral Museum.

    Gozo Public Library.
