The Ghajnsielem Local Council together with the main organisations recently discussed plans and proposals for an exciting project which is being planned for this Christmas… ‘Bethlehem in Ghajnsielem.’
The whole ‘Ta Passi’ area will literally be transformed into a ‘live crib’ and will offer a naturalistic reproduction of the environ of Bethlehem. The works will be managed and overseen by Franco Ciangura. The organisations taking part in this activity are the St Joseph Band Club, Ghajnsielem F.C., the Franciscan community and Ghaqda Drammatika Ghajnsielem.
A large tent will also be erected in the parking area adjacent to the St Joseph Band Club premises. The tent will host several cultural activities during the evenings while the participating organisations will have their own stand selling traditional Christmas food and products.
The Ghajnsielem Primary school is also expected to take a leading part in the activities. The aim is to open the live crib on the 10th of December and spread the activities over three weeks.
All those who wish to volunteer in this exciting project are invited to attend a meeting at 7pm, next Monday, the 6th of October, at the St Joseph Band Club Hall.
‘Bethlehem in Ghajnsielem’ promises to be one of the main attractions in Malta and Gozo this Christmas.

This sounds like an original and beautiful idea. How far is this place by walk from the Mgarr Harbour?
Hope we’ll come over from Malta to see it.
Alfred, the live crib will be at ‘Ta Passi’ fields which is approx 5 minutes walk by Mgarr Harbour. The Christmas Village will be over 1 tumoli of land and promises to be a unique experience for its visitors.
A great idea and I am sure it will be most enjoyable by all.Maybe I will hop over from Scotland to see it myself.
Good luck with your massive project.
