Labour MP Justyne Caruana wins the third seat for Gozo

Labour MP Justyne Caruana has taken the third seat for the Party with 3966 votes, this has given the Gozo district to Labour by the narrow margin of nine votes. Justyne Caruna got 3,958 votes in 2008.
PN’s Frederick Azzopardi gained 3,957 votes and has therefore not been re-elected to Parliament. At the end of the 2008 election he received 2,407 votes.
This is the first time since 1955 that Labour has won Gozo. Earlier this morning, there was some confusion after it was reported that the PN Party had won the third seat by just four votes.
In 2008 in Gozo the result the distribution of first count votes was 55% to PN, 43% to PL and 2% to other Parties.
