Thirty illegal immigrants land at Mgarr Harbour

Mgarr harbourA group of thirty illegal immigrants landed at Mgarr harbour just before midnight last night.

The boat, carrying twenty-eight men and two women berthed inside the harbour. Assistance was given to the immigrants by soldiers from the No.1 Regiment Gozo Troop based at Nadur and volunteers from the Malta Red Cross, Gozo branch.

The migrants were then transferred to Malta onboard the AFM Maritime Squadron patrol boat.
