The San Lawrenz Local Council together with the Gozo SPCA have been discussing a pilot project on free pet neutering, this would be the first project of its kind amongst the Local Councils. Normally such pet neutering would cost around €25 and €35.
The Council has been gathering information about the number of dogs and cats that residents have and also the level of interest in the project amongst the residents.
One should keep in mind that the problem of cats and dogs roaming the streets, and of others which are being killed, is very alarming, so the aim of this project will be to limit the number of strays roaming the streets.
