Archbishop Paul Cremona and Gozo Bishop Mario Grech have called for common sense to prevail, so that a resolution may be found to the transport strike.
The Bishops said they are aware of the hardship being felt by the workers, their families and the people and they are urging everyone to keep calm and to respect public order.
The Bishops also welcomed the fact that the hearse services have restarted and that the deceased could now be buried with dignity, and the grief of the deceased’s relatives would not now not be prolonged.
The Bishops also asked people to pray for a just and speedy solution to be found.
