The Malta Transport Authority (ADT) is to deduct €60,000 a day from the subsidy given to the bus owners for as long as they remain on strike. The government has also announced that it has stopped the subsidy it gives to bus owners for the insurance of their vehicles.
The Authority has also irrevocably terminated the contract of Coop Services Limited which had been responsible for the provision of the Park and Ride Shuttle Service between Floriana and Valletta.
The Authority said that as it had no dispute with the Coop Services Ltd, it expected that the latter would carry out its services in accordance with its commercial obligations.
The Authority said that it was making alternative arrangements for the shuttle service to resume as soon as possible.
