Din l-Art Helwa has issued a statement saying that it was dismayed to hear a Member of Parliament state openly on the television programme ‘Vici Versa’ on the 18th of June, that MPs from both sides of the House regularly contact a certain Mepa official who acts as a type of “liason officer” on their behalf, to enquire about the planning applications of their constituents and other persons.
Din l-Art Helwa expressed its strong disapproval of any political involvement in the processing of individual planning applications submitted by third parties.
Din l-Art Helwa, National Trust of Malta, is a non-governmental, non-profit, voluntary organisation founded in 1965 to safeguard Malta’s cultural heritage and natural environment.
