Malta International Airport plc has accepted the invitation to join the Red Cross Society of Malta as corporate members. On this occasion the CEO Julian Jaeger presented a sponsorship cheque to Professor Frederick Fenech President of the Malta Red Cross Society which should contribute towards the Red Cross voluntary services which are increasingly on demand.
Professor Fenech explained that the Malta Red Cross Society is in fact a voluntary organisation that forms part of the International Red Cross and the Red Crescent Movement that depend very much on financial support given by private and public organisations. Professor Fenech thanked MIA for accepting the invitation to join the Red Cross membership stating that this would also enhance the society’s image by adding yet another of Malta’s leading entities to its membership.
Julian Jaeger said that this support is in line with MIA’s commitment to assist and contribute towards voluntary organisations that play an important role in the day to day life of Maltese society particularly the less fortunate. “We are proud to support The Red Cross Society in Malta because we believe in its essential role amongst the Maltese in general and we trust that our contribution will help to instil more determination and commitment amongst its volunteers.”
The sponsorship agreement also envisages a number of courses in First Aid conducted by the Red Cross and addressed for the particular activity of MIA employees.
