The Gozo Cathedral has suspended the inauguration ceremony for two statues that were to be erected on the steps leading up to the cathedral in Victoria after the Malta Environment and Planning Authority notified the church’s administration that they required a permit.
In a statement, the Gozo Cathedral’s administration said "that it believed in the principle of legality and was therefore postponing the inauguration ceremony until the permits are issued."
