Next Sunday, Fr Brian Mejlak will officially be taking up the position of Parish Priest of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour and St Gregory the Great parish in Kercem. A solemn High Mass will be celebrated by Mgr Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo at 6pm.
On Friday at 5.30pm, Fr. Mejlak will be concelebrating a Thanksgiving Mass with the Collegiate Chapter of the Nadur Basilica where he has served for the past 10 years.
On Saturday, Fr Daniel Xerri, rector of the Gozo Seminary, will lead a Prayer Vigil at Kercem parish church, starting at 8pm.
Fr Mejlak was born on the 29th of August 1971. He was educated at Nadur Primary School and the Sacred Heart Minor Seminary, and ordained as a priest on the 21st of June 1996. After serving two years at the St John Fisher Parish in the Archdiocese of Toronto, Canada, Fr Mejlak returned to Gozo to serve as Parish Priest of the St Peter & St Paul Basilica in Nadur.
