A 35-year-old Australian born man, Martin Joseph Xuereb, residing in Gozo, has been sentenced to one years imprisonment after pleading guilty to stealing from a vehicle in Palm Street, Victoria.
Mr Xuereb admitted to stealing €100 in cash, a mobile phone, a handbag and various other items from the vehicle on Sunday, the 11th of May, he also plead guilty to relapsing.
Handing down his judgment, Magistrate Anthony Ellul took into account the fact that the accused had cooperated with the police. Magistrate Ellul also ordered that the time the accused had spent in custody should be reduced from his prison term.
