The Nadur Local Council is once again organising the annual and popular village Carnival activities which attracts visitors from all over Gozo and Malta.
The Council said that some detest it, while others love it: This is the Nadur Carnival- A unique experience lasting a few days, “when the silliness, the senseless and the idiotic takes over. Carnival is a passion shared by many people. An event that attracts thousands of Maltese, Gozitans and foreigners come to our village. An experience combining the tradition of Carnival with the latest news events – making this Carnival world famous.”
These activities will begin with the Miss Queen Carnival Competition, which is being held on Saturday, the 2nd of February 2013 at the MBC Theatre at 7.000pm.
On Sunday the 3rd of February the Nadur Organised Carnival gets underway at St. Peter & St. Paul Square starting at 12.30pm. The programme will consist of a variety of costumes, dances, floats, sketches, floats.
The Children’s Carnival, organised by the Nadur Primary School in Collaboration with Nadur Local Council Event for Nadur Primary School students, will be taking place on Thursday, the 7th of February.
Mardi Gras, organised by Nadur Youngsters Football Club, takes place in December 13th Street and will start at 7.00pm, with traditional carnival entertainment and food.
The Continuation of the Children’s Carnival will be held at the Nadur Primary School on Friday, the 8th of February.
The very popular Nadur Spontaneous Carnival is to be held between Friday the 8th of February and Tuesday, the 12th of February in December 13th Street and St. Peter & St. Paul Square. This will start after 8.00pm each evening.
Transport to and from Nadur will be provided by Arriva. The main sponsors are the Ministry for Home Affairs; Ministry for Gozo; MTA and Coca Cola.
