A 20 year old from Victoria, Gozo, was charged yesterday with assaulting and slightly injuring two police officers.
Sebastian Grima pleaded not guilty to assaulting and slightly injuring two officers on 6 July in St Julian?s at about 5am. He was also accused of resisting arrest, threatening and insulting the officers and causing damage to the officers? uniforms.
Grima was also accused of causing between Lm50 and Lm500 in damage to a police vehicle, breaching the peace and disobeying police orders.
He was also charged with taking the matter further when he again insulted and threatened police officers at St Julian?s police station and again at Police general headquarters.
The court, presided over by magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna, set bail against a personal guarantee of Lm1,000. Police inspector Martin Sammut prosecuted
