Jellyfish warning for dog walkers on Ramla Beach GozoA Gozo News reader has written to warn that there have been a large number of jellyfish washed up onto the beach at Ramla Bay.

Friends of the reader who were out exercising their two dogs on the beach spotted the jellyfish and called the dogs away, however several hours later, one of the dogs sadly died. The owners said that the dog had been very fit and had no previous illness.

It is not yet known for certain if jellyfish stings were the cause of the dogs death, however the dogs owners said that they would not like anyone else to have to suffer the same distress and would therefore like to make sure that anyone visiting the beach is fully aware of the situation.

Information regarding the washed up jellyfish has been passed on to the Gaia Foundation, who is responsible for monitoring and managing the beach.
