The Gozo Youth Wind Band is a group of young and talented musicians from the sister island of Gozo who regularly meet and prepare a vast spectrum repertoire to be performed in concerts held throughout the year. These musicians are augmented by a number of experienced musicians including foreign residents thus creating an exchange of culture and experience.
The concert will be divided into 2 parts – The first part will be dedicated to works by composers hailing from countries forming part of the EU, namely Sibelius (Finland), Elgar (England), Dvorak (Check Republic), Beethoven (Germany), Puccini (Italy) u Camilleri (Malta) . The second part consists of a lighter repertoire of popular music including scores from soundtracks.
The concert ends with the Maltese National Anthem and the European Anthem. A spectacle of lights effects will compliment the evening.
