The group the Guiding light located at the Jesus of Nazareth Church in Xaghra is proud to present the 12th edition of the Live Crib with this year’s theme being “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1, 14) – “U l-kelma saret gisem u ghammret fostna” (1,14).
The group which welcomes adolescents and youths who are united in their quest towards a spiritually guided life, has presented the Live Crib with the sole aim of delivering a message to the Maltese and Gozitan families and all those who visit the Live Crib.
In light of this year being the year of Faith; as anointed by his Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, the Live Crib offers its visitors a unique experience where one can reflect to rediscover their faith in God.
With its main intention having been from the very first day to deliver Christ’s message to the world, the live crib focuses on the meaning of Christ’s birth rather than telling the story.
As always, it is the group’s aim to spread the joy of Christmas into our everyday lives through the Live Crib’s Christian message. For this 12th edition visitors will be able to notice structural differences in the Live Crib, which will help to bring out this year’s theme and main messages. Characteristically, the Live Crib will showcase Jewish culture and traditions as experienced in Christ’s time.
The nativity scene is situated in front of the Church of Jesus of Nazareth in Xaghra Gozo. Entrance is free of charge.
The live crib can also be accessed using the public transport by Arriva bus number 322 or bus number 307. The bus stop is named Kommittiva and is in front of the live crib.
