Two Christmas cultural tours of Gozo leaving from MaltaThe Gozo Culture Office in the Ministry for Gozo is organising two cultural tours in Gozo, visiting events and displays that follow the tradition of Christmas.

The programme of tours which start from Malta are as below:

TOUR 1

Date: Sunday, the 16th of December 2012

Time: Departure on the 2:15pm ferry from Malta

Programme

2:45 pm – Arrival at Mgarr, Gozo

3:00 pm – Depart from Mgarr Terminal to visit a selection of static and mechanical cribs.

4:15 pm – Visit to the small village of Santa Lucija which is celebrating the feast of its Patron Saint.

5:00 pm – Participation in ‘Gozo’s Yesteryear Christmas’ a recreation of the holy season as was celebrated in years gone by, taking place at the Citadel in Victoria.

7:00 pm – Departure for a visit to The Cribs at the Basilica of the Nativity of our Lady in Xaghra

8:00 pm – Leave for Mgarr

8:45 pm – Ferry to Malta.

TOUR 2

Date: Sunday, the 23th of December 2012

Time: Departure on the 2:15pm ferry from Malta

Programme:

2:45 pm – Arrival at Mgarr, Gozo

3:00 pm – Departure from Mgarr Terminal to visit several dispays of static and mechanic cribs.

4:15 pm – Tour will then move on to view Cribs in Xaghra including the large eco-themed Christmas tree at the Church of St. Anthony the Abbot and the The ‘Guiding Light’ Live Crib at the Jesus of Nazareth Church in Xaghra.

6:00 pm – Departure for the village of San Lawrenz

6:30 pm – Participation in the 44th edtition of the San Lawrenz Christmas Vigil Peagent through the Square and streets of San Lawrenz.

8:00 pm – Tour concludes with departure for ferry at Mgarr.

8:45 pm – Ferry to Malta.
