Charles Buttigieg wins the President's Award for CreativityCharles Buttigieg, of Gozo, has been presented with the President’s Award for Creativity in a ceremony held at the Palace in Valletta last week.

His nomination was submitted by Dr Frank Abela and Mr Mark Gauci from the Gozo College together with the recommendation of Dr John Galea, musical director of Chorus Urbanus Choir and Architect Edward Scerri, President of the Choir.

Charles is the youngest member of Chorus Urbanus and this award will enable him to engage on further vocal studies.

One of the aims of ‘Il-Premju tal-President ghall-Kreattivita’ is the development of young talent. Its focused approach on young people and its emphasis on promoting structured mentoring programmes reflect a society which rewards and fosters talent from an early age.It supports the recognition of excellence in art and creativity, and ensures that opportunities for developing creativity are freely accessible to all.

During the ceremony Charles Buttigieg sang ‘Nella Fantasia’ accompanied on the keyboard by Dr John Galea. His performance was very well received and regaled with appreciative applause for such a young emerging lyrical voice.

The members of Chorus Urbanus and the Choir Committee are very happy for his success and wish him the best of luck in his studies and future with the choir.
