Leone Goes Pop at Notte Bianca in Valletta later this month

Gozo’s Leone Band continues with its 150th anniversary celebrations, this time with the repeat performance of Leone Goes Pop 5th edition – ‘Its a World of Rock,’ at the Notte Bianca festivities in Valletta, on Saturday, September the 29th.
The Leone Band said that “this will be the third consecutive year in which it will feature as the only Gozitan band at Notte Bianca, in Malta.” This year the hour-long performance is scheduled between 9pm and 10pm in Valletta’s main square in front of the Presidential Palace. “President George Abela is expected to visit the band.” The band said that the President is to be formally invited to preside over the band’s official 150th celebrations, which were launched last month and will conclude in August 2013, he will also be presented with a recently launched publication of the Leone Band’s history, to which he wrote the foreword.
The Leone Band promises “an evening of enjoyable entertainment under the direction of conductor Colin Attard. The line-up includes among others, music from Morandi, Bryan Adams, Boney M, Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Robbie Williams and Queen.”
Leone Goes Pop at Notte Bianca is being produced with kind assistance of the Ministry for Gozo and Ministry for Justice, Dialogue and the Family and Bank of Valletta.
