Freedom Day was celebrated in Gozo today, during an activity presided over by the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono.
The activity started with a short band march by the Police Band from Sabina Square to Independence Square in Victoria. Upon the arrival of the Minister for Gozo, the Band performed a number of light musical pieces, followed by a flower-laying ceremony in commemoration of the 1979 event.
The programme was concluded with the playing of the National Maltese Anthem and a march along Republic street by the Police Band.
