The Bank of Valletta is supporting Kenneth Zammit Tabona’s latest solo exhibition, which is being held at Gallery G in Lija. The exhibition will be inaugurated on the 29th of March 2008 by Bank of Valletta Chairman Roderick Chalmers.
“My latest exhibition is entitled Water through which the dream flows’”, said Zammit Tabona whilst thanking Priscilla Attard, Manager of Bank of Valletta’s Fleur-De-Lys Branch, who presented the artist with the Bank’s sponsorship.
“My artistic ideas must be given vein as otherwise they would simply dam up and stop flowing. Painting is a compulsion; an adventure in which one plays and experiments with shapes and textures in watercolour like an audacious child, without adult inhibitions till a happy accident creates sheer magic!,” said the artist.
Zammit Tabona’s landscapes take a new twist as he explores textural colours and occasionally abandons line in his works. The result is an abstraction of landscape that although still recognizable is the result of layer upon layer of loose colour washes bound together by gentle water splashes and tiny brushstrokes that resemble intricate filigree.
The exhibition is open to the Public from the 1st to the 19th of April at Gallery G. (No 4, Sir Ugo Mifsud Street, Lija) between 9.00am and 5.00pm on weekdays and between 9.30am and 12.30pm on Saturdays.
