Teenager suffers back injuries jumping off cliffs at Comino

A teenager suffered back injuries while jumping off the cliffs at Comino, which happened at around 3pm this afternoon.
Lifeguards and water rescuers from Gozo’s Emergency Response and Rescue Corps rescued and assisted the person in question. The person once thoroughly stabilised, was transported to Mgarr Harbour, Gozo by means of Lifesaver I, the ERRC hydro ambulance.
The casualty was transferred by a waiting ambulance to the Gozo General Hospital for further evaluation.
The Lifeguarding service at Blue lagoon is being run on a daily basis. The service is possible due to financial support from the Malta Tourist Authority. Support is also being provided by the Ministry for Gozo – eco-Gozo, Transport Malta and the Civil Protection Department.
