‘Celebration,’ is an exhibition of H.M. the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the 70th Anniversaries of the award of the George Cross to Malta, and the safe arrival of the Ohio into Grand Harbour, which was a turning point in World War II.
The exhibition is a unique collection of items, ranging from rare sculptures, Original paintings, historic photos and articles, including a replica of Malta’s George Cross.
The items on display have been supplied by B.R.A members, Gozitans, Malta Heritage, the Maritime Museum, Malta, the Maritime Museum Nadur and the Ministry of Gozo and is an insight into the British involvement in Malta, which dates back to 1565, through the British Knights of St John.
The exhibition has been creating a great deal of interest and has been visited, not only by Gozitans, Maltese and British but by many nationalities from around the world. It has brought back many memories for visitors, some who can remember, and others from what they have been told by their parents.
The exhibition will continue until the 20th of June 2012. It is open daily from 10am to 4am (weekends 11am to 3am). Entrance is free, but donations can be made to local Gozo Charities.
