Gozo attracts the 32nd edition of Kamera Louis BoutanOrganised and carried out by the German CMAS/VDST and Nautic Team GOZO, the 32nd edition of Kamera Louis Boutan, Germany’s main international championship for underwater photographers and video artists, took place – as a live event – on Gozo.

Photographers from different nations (Malta/ Germany/Switzerland/Austria/Finland) took part and made the event a true international competition, which brought people from different countries and background together.

A presentation evening held at the Kempinski Hotel in Gozo followed a whole week of activities. The evening was inaugurated by the Minister for Gozo. Giovanna Debono, who welcomed the foreign visitors and praised the initiative of the organisers and the support of a local diving centre.

The Minister explained how “Gozo has become renowned as a diving destination due to its attractive natural sites and also as a result of the praiseworthy efforts of local investors supported by other initiatives taken by the Ministry for Gozo.”

Around 100 participants, sponsors and friends enjoyed the celebratory evening during which they were also regaled by watching an interesting show of underwater photos and videos.

The results of the related competition were also announced.

Best UW-Models: Barbara Chimani (Germany), Maryanne Micallef (Malta), Frank Pastors (Germany).
