For the second consecutive year the Employees’ Social, Cultural and Educational Committee of Gozo General Hospital, in collaboration with Puttinu Cares Gozo, is organising a Fun Walk for all Gozo General Hospital employees, families and friends this coming Sunday, the 13th of May 2012 (Mother’s Day) between 3pm and 5pm.
The walk will leave from the main entrance gate. There will be an entry fee of €6 (for Puttinu Cares). A Free T Shirt will be given to all participants.
Family entertainment will also be available in the parking area near to the ammbulance garage, where there will be stalls selling plants, cakes, books and gifts, as well as a bouncy castle. You can also have your car washed in aid of Puttinu Cares for the small sum of €5.
The Puttinu Cares Cancer Support Group offers a holistic approach of care for families who have children suffering from cancer. Set up in 2002 by Dr Victor Calvagna and Rennie Zerafa, Puttinu Cares is a haven of solace for families whose children have been afflicted with cancer.
Currently this organisation is raising funds to build 12 apartments in the UK which will be only minutes away from the Royal Marsden Hospital, a specialist cancer treatment hospital.
This project is expected to cost a total of 3 million euros and is expected to accommodate some 400 Maltese and Gozitan patients for treatment in England each year.
