The Gozo Business Chamber said today that it would like to “express its appreciation that finally government has accepted that Gozo needs to have its voice heard at MCESD level.”
The Chamber continued by saying the it “has, for quite some time, been lobbying and pushing for a seat at this important consultative council since we beleive that Gozo has its own problems, distinct from Malta, which can best be understood by a person experiencing the daily travails of Gozitans.”
“With the previous composition of the MCESD there was no particular representative who could, hand on heart, say that he represented the sole interests of the Gozitans. In the Bill being presented to Parliament, it is being proposed that this representative will come from the Gozo Regional Committee which includes all the stake holders of Gozo and, therefore, Gozo’s voice and interests can now be truly represented,,” GBC concluded.
