Vodafone are offering a weekend of family fun at the Citadella

CitadelVodafone Malta Limited invites everyone in Gozo on Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th of February for a weekend of fun. Families are invited to join in activities being held at Cittadella, which will bring the historic city to life.

The weekend activities kick off at 10.00am until 1:00pm and will re-open at 5:00pm until late on Saturday, whilst on Sunday afternoon events start at 2:00pm. Attractions for the weekend include re-enactment shows, tours of Cittadella, a wine festival, a buffet and a kid’s area.

Activities for all the family will be held in the ex-Artisan School and the surrounding Bastions, children will have a dedicated area throughout the day including a bouncy castle. A cafeteria will be open throughout the day on the Bastions overlooking the beautiful Gozitan scenery.

On Saturday morning, 20 re-enactors dressed in period costumes will march around the Rabat Streets and recreate an environment from an era which has led the way to today’s richness in culture and heritage. The show will end with a battle re-enactment in the Cathedral Square.

At night Cittadella will be an impressive site lit by candle-light. A wine festival will be organized by Gozo Express Services exclusive distributors for Camilleri Wines in Gozo complimented by a food buffet provided by Maji Wine & Dine.

On Saturday night the city will host the Gozitan band Spectrum, Thea Saliba – the Vodafone Face competition winner for 2008, and an acoustic performance by Ivan and Melvin from Winter Moods and by Bitterside. On Sunday night the concert kicks off with a performance by Mistaken Identity whilst Cash and band will close off the activities.

“We would like everyone to attend this fun weekend, both Gozitans and Maltese visiting the island. There will be something for everyone, and there’s no better way to spend your weekend than being with your family in a fun and safe environment,” said Daniela Bagnaschi, Consumer Marketing Manager at Vodafone Malta.

Entrance to the Vodafone weekend is free of charge. There are several prizes to be won including a mobile phone and other Vodafone gifts. Draws will take place every hour. To participate in the draws customers need to present their invite which is being delivered to all Gozitan households. Alternatively the free invite can be collected from Vodafone’s Retail Outlet in Arkadia in Victoria, Gozo until Saturday morning.
