‘Epiphany Joys’ end of season concert with Gaulitanus ChoirGozo’s Gaulitanus Choir will as usual round off their several musical events of the festive season with another edition of its annual End-of-Festive Season Concert. This is being held, in collaboration with the Gozo Culture Office and will take place at the Parish Church of San Lawrenz.

Entitled ‘Epiphany Joys,’ This year’s programme will be highly varied and includes various sections. One of them, quite an interesting innovity, will feature a number of arrangements and compositions by British composer Sir Davis Willcocks who is well-known for his output in the Christmas repertoire.

The concert will include some local quasi-traditionalistic numbers, which had been requested by the San Lawrenz Mayor, Noel Formosa, who is avidly supporting the concert. The Gaulitanus Choir’s resident accompanist, Stephen Attard will be performing Emanuele Galea’s ever-popular Sinfonia Pastorale on the recently-restored church organ. Other ‘local’ numbers will Antonio Buhagiar’s Alma Redemptoris Mater and Colin Attard’s Ninni…Ninni.

Another interesting section will feature some new semi-classical numbers. These will be presented along several other numbers, amongst which one also finds some all-time Christmas greats as Stille Nacht and O Holy Night.

The concert will feature the Gaulitanus Choir and its soloists as well as a childrens choir which will surely add sparkle to the atmosphere. The choir will be conducted by its musical director, Colin Attard, who also artistically directs the concert.

The concert will take place on Friday, January the 6th, starting at 7.30pm. Everyone is warmly invited to attend. Entrance is free, however, pre-booking of seats is recommended on 22156700 or by email on info@gozoculture.com.
