World Children’s Day commemorated with acitivities in Malta

The Commissioner for Children has launched activities that will be taking place in order to commemorate World Children’s Day at Cospicua Primary School as well as other schools within St. Margaret’s College.
As part of the celebrations, all children in years 5 and 6, forms 1 and 2, attending state schools, church schools as well as independent schools will be receiving a comic book on internet safety. These comic books were produced by students of MCAST Art and Design and are also being used as part of the BeSmartOnline! awareness campaign.
All children attending Kindergarten 2 will also be receiving a children’s rights game which consists of 12 flash cards to promote children’s rights pertaining to: Education; Health; Play; a Clean Environment and Equality.
Also, in order to commemorate this important day, the Office of the Commissioner for children is organising an event on the 13th of November at Villa Francia between 10:00am and 4:00pm. During this event there will be 20 activities for children organised by different entities. These activities include: games, sports, arts and crafts, face painting and pottery.
Families attending the event will also be able to visit the Villa which is currently used for various activities and official functions. Those attending the event will also be able to obtain information pertaining to children’s rights, voluntary work as well as internet safety.
