MCAST’s Institute of Mechanical Engineering recently welcomed Mr. Jurgen Sixt, who has just donated his private car, a Honda Civic, to the College’s automotive maintenance workshops.
Such donations are very beneficial to the students, allowing them to put what they learn in class to practice, using different types of vehicles. The institute also receives several vehicles, which albeit still roadworthy, are taken off the fleets of businesses or government entities.
These vehicles are constantly required to keep the workshops running. Prof. Maurice Grech, MCAST Principal and CEO, Ing. Aurelio Micallef Grimaud, the Institute’s director and deputy directors Ing. Ray Vassallo and Mr. David Bonello introduced Mr. Sixt to some of the students and staff at the workshops, before presenting him with a small token of appreciation.
