Festubru 2011 being held at the Lunzjata Valley in KercemFor the third consecutive year, the Ghaqda Muzikali San Girgor of Kercem is organising Festubru, a festival for everyone in the family to enjoy. It starts next Friday, the 7th of October and concludes on Sunday, the 9th of October. The event will be held at the most picturesque valley in the Maltese Islands, Lunzjata Valley, just on the borders of Victoria and Kercem.

The Organising Committee said that it will once again present a full programme of activities and attractions directly linked with tradition.

This three-day activity will also include various attractions and exhibitions featuring farming tools and animals used by our forefathers. An interesting attraction for everyone will be the production of Gozitan cheeslets and wool weaving. Local fresh products and preservatives will be available to purchase at the festival. The Lunzjata Chapel will be open throughout the three days where mass will be celebrated.

This festival is being organised in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo in line with Eco-Gozo vision and the Parliamentary Secretary for Consumers, Fair Competition, Local Councils and Public Dialogue as well as the Kercem Local Council.

The Ghaqda Muzikali San Girgor will be carrying out an educational campaign especially towards young children to promote the natural, historic and cultural heritage of Gozo.
