The Boys Museum Xaghra commemorates 50th anniversaryThis year, the Boys Museum in Xaghra is commemorating the Golden Jubilee of its inauguration. It was in June 1961 that the MUSEUM Society began teaching lessons about Christian doctrine in Xaghra.

For this important occasion, the Society has announced a programme of activities to commemorate this anniversary. A full colour book about the Society has also been published and distributed to every Xaghra household, the book contains interesting information about the history of this Society in Xaghra along with the prayers that were said by the founder, Saint George Preca.

The Xaghra Parish will organise a thanksgiving celebration this Sunday, the 2nd of October 2011, feast of Our Lady of Holy Rosary.

At 5pm there will be a solemn concelebrated Mass led by Mgr Archpriest Carmelo Refalo, together with the Most Reverend Chapter and Clergy of Xaghra Collegiate Church. At around 6pm, there will be the annual procession with the statue of Our Lady which passes along Saint George Preca Street, Parisot Street, Gnien Xibla Street, Racecourse Street and Victory Square. As soon as procession enters the Basilica, there will the impartation of Eucharistic Benediction.
