UPDATED: Dame Maria Ellis, of the Dorthese Ellis Foundation, will be presenting items of much needed medical equipment to the Gozo General Hospital next Wednesday morning, the 7th of September. The equipment, 6 Codan Argus Syringe Pumps and 4 Progetti Volumentric Pumps, is valued at over 15000.00
Volumetric pumps fasten to a drip stand and deliver fluids or medication over a period of time. Syringe drivers deliver a dose of medication via a syringe which is attached. These may be used by patients to manage their own pain without the danger of overdosing. Both can be programmed for the respective individual and have alarms fitted for safety.
The Dorthese Ellis Foundation works to support sick patients in their homes and elsewhere and provides much needed equipment for the Gozo General Hospital.
