Xaghra Local Council starts work on roads in the local areaThe Xaghra Local Council is currently carrying out work on Sellum Road. These works consist of maintenance and the construction of rubble walls along the road to Victoria.

The Council said it received financial assistance for the project through the ‘Eco Gozo’ scheme launched by the Ministry for Gozo.

Work on the road is scheduled to be completed by the end of August. The Council said that “immediately afterwards, work will begin on the second phase of this project which includes maintenance and construction of rubble walls along San Marzjal Road, which is a short distance away from the Church of Saint Anthony the Abbot. The holistic project is expected to be completed by the end of next October.”

The Council concluded by saying that “this project will lead to better conditions on both roads in the locality, following complaints from residents over the years about the current disastrous state of these areas.”
