Nadur delegation visit Cashel in Ireland for charter meeting

A ten-strong delegation of six adults and four youths from the Nadur Local Council led by Mayor Ms Miriam Portelli took part in the annual meeting of the Charter for European Rural Communities as part of the ‘Programme Network of Twinned Towns 2011-2012.’
The meeting was held in Cashel, Ireland, between the 30th of June and the 4th of July 2011, on the theme of “The effects of demographic development on the rural economy.”
Nadur will be hosting a small Charter Meeting between the 23rd and 25th of September, on the theme: “Demographic development in rural areas. Ageing and decrease of the population and the effects for the liveability in the villages.” Five participants from: Italy, Bucine; Greece, Kolindros,; Cyprus, Lefkara; Slovenia, Moravce; Austria, Lassee; Czech Republic, Stary Poddvorov, as well as five local participants, the Vice-President and Treasurer of the charter will all take part in the meeting.
