The Gozo stand set up by the Ministry for Gozo in this year’s edition of the Malta International Trade Fair is also serving the intention of promoting authentic traditional and characteristic elements that are making the island of Gozo increasingly popular with Maltese visitors.
Apart from the participation of Gozitan business establishments, the stand was also animated through special attractions organised on different days. An exhibition or works by instructors at the Wistin Camilleri Gozo Centre for Art and Crafts followed those offered by the Gozitan tribute band ‘The Tramps,’ as well as by the culinary experience set up by the Institute for Tourism Studies in Gozo.
Visitors to the stand could also follow the instructors at work on their respective artefacts that included gilding, filigree, pottery, stained glass, sculpting and art. The Wistin Camilleri Gozo Centre for Art and Crafts, has been considerably upgraded through an EU co-funded project in recent years and has established itself as an active provider of Lifelong Learning opportunities in Gozo offering more than 50 courses in various art and crafts subjects. Apart from traditional crafts the centre also trains participants in other skills that enhance their employability prospects.
The Malta International Trade Fair comes to a close this Sunday, the 3rd of July.
