Gozo chosen as one of the top ten tourist destinationsGozo has been chosen as one of the top ten destinations among the Southern Europe top 50. The QualityCoast Jury evaluated over 500 international tourist destinations in nine Southern European countries. The selected destinations are combined into the “QualityCoast 2011 – Southern European Top 50.”

This was announced during an awards ceremony in Kouklia, Cyprus for the Quality Coast 2011 – Southern European Top 50.

Present at the awards ceremony was the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, Mr. Emmanuel Tabone, Director for Tourism and Economic Development within the Ministry for Gozo and Mr Joe Grech, President of the Chamber of Commerce for Gozo. The Minister expressed her satisfaction on the island achieving this award, which she said is “a valid tool in the promotion of Gozo as a tourist destination.”

      “The Minister expressed her satisfaction on the island achieving this award, which she said is “a valid tool in the promotion of Gozo as a tourist destination.” What did Giovanna Debono do to help Gozo win this award? This is the person who should have protected Dwejra from the idiots who decided to dump quarry waste on the fossil beds, but didn’t even know about it until she read the story in the paper! Let’s hope she puts the certificate somewhere prominent so that she will know what answer to give when the developers start shouting for a marina at Hondoq Bay.

      I WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SEE GOZO TO BE CHOSEN # 1 OUT OF THE 1O THAT HAS BEEN SELECTED AND WILL THAT BEAUTIFUL MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT DO THE VILLAGE OF QALA A FAVOUR AND INCREASE THE POPULATION OF MY VILLAGE TO BE EQUAL TO ALL THE OTHER VILLAGES OF GOZO, BY BUILD TA ( CINI) BY DEVELOPING IT AND TIE IT UP WITH OUR NEIGHBOURING NADUR, we will built a foRtress

      .We all know what is happening at Nadur cemetry and also as you said Hondoq yacht marina and the rest of the villas etc .Who will benefit .Certainly not me nor you .

      Sort things and help the local economy but Don’t spoil the island. Change for change’s sake is not good. Don’t follow others, but stay true to the island, yourselves and your history

      I HAVE PLANS FOR QALA TO BE THE MOST IMPORTANT TO BENEFIT BOTH GOZO AND MALTA AT THE SAME EXPENSE,( WATER ) IS THE MOST VALUABLE FOR OUR ISLANDS!! IT CLOSE TO HONDOQ BAY, THIS PLACE IS MADE BY GOD OF SOLID WALLS, SOLID ROCKS, NAMED ( TA -FONDSO )IT WILL BE A BIG PROJECT THAT WILL TAKE YEARS TO BUILD A LOT OF CONCRETE AND ENGINEERS AND ARCHITECTS OUR BEAUTIFUL MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT BETTER START ON THIS PROJECT QUICKLY BECAUSE I WANT TO SEE IT COMPLETED BEFORE I DIE AND
